Book printing binding process
Book printing binding process
1. Saddle stitching:
The simplest and most common binding method, suitable for thinner books and periodicals. Common page counts are 20p, 28p, 32p, and 40p. Note that the page count must be even.
2. Assorted binding:
Both thread binding and wire binding belong to assorted binding. It involves folding and pasting the printed pages into a book, securing them with wire along one edge, and then adding a cover. Used for general book binding.
3. Perfect binding:
Perfect binding avoids the drawbacks of perfect binding, such as pages coming undone or coming apart. Commonly used for books with many pages, such as dictionaries.
4. Perfect binding:
Primarily used in offset printing, such as product manuals, novels, and educational materials.
5. Loose-leaf binding:
Spiral binding, rubber binding, wire binding, etc.
